An Artists’ Guild for a New Age
In the spirit of the medieval guilds of old—where craftspeople gathered to share knowledge, uphold standards, and strengthen their trade—the Borealis Art Guild exists to do much the same for today’s artists. Historically, guilds were communities of makers: they taught apprentices, protected the quality of the craft, and ensured that art and skill had a respected place in civic life.
Borealis Art Guild carries that tradition forward on the Iron Range, serving as a modern fellowship of artists, instructors, and supporters (sponsors and volunteers) who believe art is meant to be learned, practiced, shared, and celebrated. The Guild provides a place to hone skills through classes, exhibit and sell work, mentor emerging artists, and gather around a shared love of creative expression. Rooted in tradition but alive with contemporary energy, the Guild is both workshop and meeting hall—a place where art is preserved, passed on, and continually re-imagined.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire, support, and connect artists of all skill levels and backgrounds by fostering a vibrant, inclusive community dedicated to excellence. We provide resources, education, exhibitions, and events that encourage creative growth and public engagement. Our goal is to enrich our community and enhance the cultural vibrancy of Northern Minnesota.
Featured Artist
Each month, Borealis Art Guild highlights three Featured Artists, showcasing their work in a highly visible community setting at Borealis Art Guild studio, the Paulucci Space Theater and Security State Bank. This rotating feature provides artists with an opportunity to share their work with a broader audience while bringing art into a public cultural space. The program celebrates artistic achievement, supports local creatives, and strengthens the connection between the Guild, its artists & students, and the wider community.
